About the opportunity
The purpose of this role is to be the single point of accountability for a portfolio of our small to medium business customers.
What you’ll deliver with us
As our Account Manager you’ll work with and support a portfolio of approximately 250 customers. The role has end-to-end ownership of its customer accounts, working with the VIC sales team and reporting into the Sales Manager.
You’ll also
- Develop and implement customer-centric strategic account plans to effectively prioritise sales effort, protect existing revenue, and ensure a deliberate approach to maximising revenue growth of AP’s medium business accounts.
- Manage account relationships by leading regularly planned sales calls with Senior Executive level stakeholders to explore pain points and ensure an excellent customer experience.
- Engage with customers on key retention activities through the full lifecycle of the customer contract, including renewing existing contracts, conducting annual price reviews, and reviewing surcharge compliance.
- Identify and qualify opportunities within customer accounts to cross sell multi-product and/or complex solutions, drawing on Sales and Solutions Specialists as required to build, propose, and close these new business contracts.
- Document all sales and account management activity in Salesforce to provide AP’s sales enablement functions (e.g. Sales Operations, Segment Development, etc.) with quality data to develop appropriate improvement strategies and initiatives.
About you
You’re someone who has experience with and enjoys sales. You have a positive attitude towards work. You have a willingness to learn and progress and most of all you love building strong relationships.
You’ll also need
- Experience in face-to-face selling of standardised B2B solutions to small and medium business customers including identifying, qualifying, proposing, and closing sales opportunities.
- Demonstrated experience applying portfolio management strategies for an allocation of small to medium business customers.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen.

- You will be able lead and influence clients and their programme activities
- You should be able to analyse and audit technical solutions as well as present information and advice to senior business partners.
- Demonstrate excellent skills in the development of customer proposals and liaise with the Project Office in preparation of proposals and answering of tenders
- Assist in presales activities to generate projects for self and rest of the consultancy practice
- You will contribute to may be either assurance or risk advisory in nature, and vary considerably in size and complexity.
- Translate the technical findings from an assessment into relevant, actionable information for customers
- You will be working in areas such as Privacy, PCI, Identity & Access Management, Monitoring, Data Loss Prevention, Network Access Control and Payments Security technologies, ISO27001 Compliance, policy and procedures development
- Demonstrate commitment to delivering projects within time and in budget and to a high level of customer satisfaction – exercising customer care at all times
- Demonstrate a strong ability to develop a rapport with customers and to engender long lasting relationships
- Liaise with the Resource Management and Sales team during the sales cycle to assist in quantifying, pricing and organising the consulting resources required for the project delivery
- Have strong business, consultancy and technical skills within the IT Security Industry
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards such as ISO, PCI DSS, SOX, respective privacy Acts
- Customer training experience
- QSA, CISA, CISSP would be an advantage
